Kara Kimevski, LPCC, M.Ed., M.A.

Kara Kimevski is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who received her Master of Education (M. Ed.) from Malone University in Canton, Ohio. Kara’s education also includes a Bachelor's degree (BA) in Psychology from Kent State University and a Master's in Forensic Psychology (MA) from Northcentral University.  

  • Kara’s clinical experience includes community mental health and outpatient intervention with children, adolescents, individuals, parents, families, and groups. Kara is dedicated to providing excellent clinical care and a compassionate and supportive environment for her clients. She is a skilled provider of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). 

Kara’s priority is providing effective counseling services which reflect the highest quality of therapeutic interventions. She is an active listener and is empathic with her clients. She also strives to aid individuals in learning and adapting traditional coping skills to fit into their own lifestyle. 

  • Kara is experienced in conducting diagnostic assessments and therapeutic services, ranging from self-esteem to anger, depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, stress management, and post-traumatic stress disorder. She has also received training in Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid.

Elizabeth Hull-Frye, LPC, M.Ed.

Elizabeth Hull-Frye is a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to supporting individuals through life’s challenges with empathy, clinical insight, and personalized care. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio in Delaware, Ohio and her Bachelor of Science from Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida.

  • Elizabeth is experienced in treating a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, and other mood-related issues. She draws from evidence-based treatment modalities—such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Gestalt Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR),—to offer an integrative, client-centered approach tailored to each individual’s needs.

Elizabeth provides excellent service to children ages 6 and up, as well as teens and adults. She offers virtual therapy for clients ages 18 and older, making care accessible and convenient. Currently accepting new clients, Elizabeth provides flexible scheduling with early morning and evening availability to accommodate a variety of needs. Her goal is to create a supportive, affirming space where clients can build emotional resilience, develop self-awareness, and experience meaningful personal growth.

  • When she’s not working, Elizabeth enjoys spending time in the garden, knitting, and creating vibrant tie-dye projects—activities that reflect her appreciation for creativity, patience, and being grounded in the present moment.

Greg Hoefler, LPCC-S, M.C.

Greg Hoefler is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who received his Master of Counseling (M.C.) from Arizona State University.

  • Greg brings over 30 years of experience working in community mental health, private practice, and hospital settings. He is trained in a number of modalities including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Couples Counseling, and Solution-Focused Counseling.

Greg has moved several times across the country, made several job changes, and experienced family illness and loss, so he is familiar with hitting obstacles, falling down, and getting up again. His personal experience informs his clinical experience to help you break through barriers and find solutions.

  • Greg currently works during the week as an outpatient therapist at Akron Children’s Hospital and will see clients here at Effective Counseling Solutions on Monday evenings and Saturdays.

Meredith Budowanec, LPCC-S, M.Ed.

Meredith Millward is a licensed professional clinical counselor who received her Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Meredith’s education also includes a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in Psychology from Kent State University with a minor focus of American Sign Language. 

  • Meredith’s clinical experience includes community mental health and outpatient intervention with children, adolescents, individuals, parents, and families. Although Meredith has provided treatment services to individuals and families presenting a variety of mental health concerns, Meredith has a special area of interest in assisting adolescents, adults, and families improve their lives. Areas of clinical excellence include anxiety, depression, and trauma recovery. Her preferred clinical interventions include providing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Meredith is driven to provide high quality counseling services tailored to fit your individual needs. She is motivated to provide concrete tools and interventions in order to provide you with the most benefit from services, with the intention of giving you the skills you need in order to eliminate dependence on therapy support services. 

  • Meredith provides diagnostic assessment and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, young adults, parents and families exhibiting a diversity of emotional and behavioral health concerns, including but not limited to, depression, suicide/self-harm, self-esteem, anger, anxiety, divorce, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder/trauma, ADHD, learning disorders, behavioral disorders, and parent/caregiver consultation. Meredith has received training, supervision and consultation in the treatment modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR).

Katie Labar, LPCC-S, M.Ed.

Catherine (Katie) LaBar is a licensed professional clinical counselor supervisor who received her Master of Education (M. Ed.) from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Katie’s education also includes a Bachelor's degree (BA) in Psychology with a Minor in Criminology and Criminal Justice from The Ohio State University.

  • Katie’s ambition is to offer a variety of evidence based interventions to address your individual needs. She has found that the most important aspect of the counseling process is often the relationship she establishes with her client, with the goal of providing them with the skills to decrease the need for ongoing therapy support. Katie has a special interest in helping individuals to resolve trauma and build resilience.

Katie is trained in diagnostic assessments and therapeutic services, with experience ranging from anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder/trauma to behavioral disorders, and anger. Katie is highly experienced in the use of clinical interventions such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

  • Katie specializes in being an active and empathic listener. She works with a dedicated focus to help her clients achieve and sustain a high quality of mental health.

Mitch Conrad, LPC, M.Ed.

Mitch Conrad is a Licensed Professional Counselor who received his Master of Education (M.Ed.) from Cleveland State University. Mitch also attended Baldwin-Wallace University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (BA), majoring in Sociology and Psychology. Mitch is also pursuing a doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision at Kent State University.

          Mitch’s clinical experience includes working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, obsessions, compulsions, relationship challenges, grief, life transitions, and concerns about suicide. Mitch is especially mindful of people who are recovering from or are experiencing acute or chronic trauma, including a specific focus for individuals recovering from bullying, emotional abuse, and physical abuse. Mitch has experience providing counseling to people in the LGBTQIA+ community and endeavors to provide counseling from a perspective that celebrates the diversity of identities and experiences for people and their communities.

            Mitch is focused on providing counseling that is collaborative, consent-forward, and feedback-oriented in order to find the forms of treatment that feel best for you. His goal is provide an affirming, compassionate, and gentle space where you can share your values and goals, explore the identities that are important to you, and receive empathy for your experiences in life. He is focused on understanding your unique perspective, including the way you experience yourself and the world.

.         Mitch provides counseling from an integrative perspective, relying on

Humanistic/Person-Centered Therapy (PCT) from an emotion-focused perspective to ncrease awareness and comfort with emotions to alter behavioral patterns. His practice is also informed by feminist, attachment, and polyvagal theories. He has received additional trainings in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed care, including certification in neurodevelopment in children (NME). In his leisure time, Mitch enjoys listening to music, playing piano, hiking in nature, playing tabletop games, and spending time with friends & family.

Corinne Bettle, B.A., Office Manager

Corinne has been an ECS team member since 2017. She is driven to provide excellent customer service to our clients and she is an excellent support to our staff. As direct support staff, Corinne is known for being kind and incredibly helpful among our clinicians and with our clients. She aids clients in navigating insurance, billing, and invoicing. Corinne is known to provide kind, helpful assistance and works an issue patiently to the very end.
